For me, Oshibana, the art of pressed flowers, is a celebration of nature. It anchors my daily walks, allowing me to slow down and admire the subtle beauty around me—the intricate shapes of leaves, the rich palette of wild flowers, and the life of birds, butterflies, and bees. What began as a deeply enjoyable hobby has blossomed over time into my true calling.

The Journey Since 2022

I am Kai, and I create cards with authentic pressed flowers. I officially created the Kai Lillekaardid brand in 2022, and since then, my path has unfolded in ways I could have never imagined. The saying, "open the right door, and you see the path," has proven entirely true for me, leading me toward new creative horizons.

I remember a young girl at a summer market who picked up my card with wild clover. With a huge smile, she said, “This reminds me of picking flowers with my grandmother!” Moments like that give me a lot of joy and satisfaction. This is a way to share a piece of my world and invite others to see the magic in the ordinary.

Estonian nature is wonderfully versatile, yet humble and modest in its beauty. You have to slow down and take time to notice it. But once you do, you can’t help but fall in love with it. Whenever I walk through the woods or along the riverside, I am surrounded by countless beautiful wild flowers. Each has its own perfect time to grow, blossom, and mature. Living with four distinct seasons allows me to witness this life cycle over and over again. Every single time, it feels like a miracle—a unique experience that I want to capture and share with you.

My goal is to remind us all that nature deserves our care, respect, and love. When I design my cards, I intentionally choose simple wild flowers that are often overlooked in nature. The moment these modest plants are placed in the spotlight, people truly notice and acknowledge their existence.

Community experience

Beyond the cards, my work has grown into a community experience. The Mosaic Collection of my framed pictures and the Flowercard Collection have been proudly exhibited in various locations across Estonia, and these are always ready to travel further to connect with those who value nature conservation, slow living, and true authenticity.
